A TOP of $20,000 was achieved at Wednesday’s National Dorper and White Dorper Sale at Dubbo.
The $20,000 Dorper ram was sold by Adrian Veitch, Kaya stud, Narrogin, WA.
It was purchased by Dean and Heather Powrie, Sunnyside Dorpers, Warwick, Qld.
Kaya stud also sold the second highest Dorper ram for $18,000.
That ram was purchased by the Cullinan family, Dust 'n Rain Dorpers, Pooncarie.
The top White Dorper ram was sold by Amarula White Dorper stud, Gravesend, for $13,000.
Dorper ewes sold to a top of $5000, with the top ewe sold by Oakview Dorper stud, Toolamba Vic, while Dumisa White Dorpers, Moama, sold the top White Dorper ewe for $2800.
About 150 lots were offered at the 13th National Sale.
The offering comprised both Dorper and White Dorper rams and ewes.
A large crowd of buyers competed over the offering.
About 37 vendors attended this year’s national sale, which was conducted by Landmark and Elders, and also supported by AuctionsPlus.
Adopting a new format this year, the national show and national sale were conducted at separate events.
This year, the Dorper and White Dorper National Show was conducted at the Australian Sheep and Wool Show in Bendigo in July.
