OFF-ROAD product manufacturers BRP and Polaris have formed a new legal entity, the Australasian Off-Road Vehicle Association (AORVA).
The key mission of AORVA is to promote the safe and responsible use of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and side-by-side vehicles and to collaborate with local and State agencies to gain fair access for users.
BRP's Asia Pacific vice-president and regional general manager, Gregoire Dupont said AORVA would be an independent and not-for-profit organisation that would lobby all levels of government to overcome current limitations around land access for recreational riders.
Its aim is to achieve legislative change to allow the same recreational access for ATVs and side-by-sides that is currently afforded to trail bikes and 4WDs in allocated national parks and State forests.
“The launch of AORVA is intended to provide riders, across the country, with greater recreational riding opportunities," Mr Dupont said.
These sentiments were also echoed by Polaris Australia managing director, Peter Alexander.
"Our customers will love the creation of AORVA as it strives to create responsible riding opportunities all over Australia and the chance for them to enjoy all the benefits of their products in the most structured and safest way possible,” he said.
