Middleton, Cunnamulla, and Chain O Holes, Mitchell, sold while Calabah listed at $4.45m.

TWO of of three south west Queensland grazing properties offered at auction have sold, reinforcing the underlying strength of the market.

Cunnamulla property Middleton has sold at auction for for $1.4 million to Evelyn Saragossi from Hamilton, Brisbane. Located 160km south east of Cunnamulla and 130km south of Bollon, the 23,827ha (58,878 acre) freehold property is described as a good mix of country with grey and red soils. The price is equal to about $58.75/ha ($23.78/acre). Middleton is estimated to run 8000 dry sheep equivalents and is currently running 3100 Dorper ewes and lambs as well as cattle. There is a capped and piped bore. Middleton is divided into 21 main and 10 holding paddocks. Three parties registered to bid at the auction. Brendan Devine from Elders, St George, handled the sale.

Mitchell breeder property Chain O Holes sold immediately after auction on October 2. The 22,655ha (55,978 acre) GHPL property is understood to have sold for about $1.2m. Located 100km north of Mitchell on the Maranoa River, the property has nine bores, four main breeder paddock and four holding paddocks. Steve Goodhew and Athol Cleland from Raine and Horne Rural handled the sale.

The 1036ha (2560 acre) Injune property Gum’s Gully also settled recently. Offered by Graham Thomas, the property sold for an undisclosed price to the Injune-based Guthrie family through Raine and Horne Rural. 

Meanwhile the Charleville aggregation Calabah has been listed at $4.45m after it was put to auction on October 1. The 71,561ha (176,832 acre) property located was offered with 2500 cattle and plant. The aggregation consists of the adjoining Calabah and Kalanoa located 100km south east of Charleville, and Mooro located 90km south west of Wyandra. The mulga country is estimated to run 3500 adult equivalents.
