WESTERN Grazing's blue ribbon Cunnamulla, Qld, property Victo and Murrumbah was passed in on an auctioneer's bid of $6 million yesterday.
Elders auctioneer Dick Allpass opened the bidding at $6m and initially sought a rise of $250,000. With no response coming from the small crowd gathered in the Tattersalls Club in Brisbane, Mr Allpass then sought a rise of $100,000 before shutting the auction down.
An asking price has not been revealed. The property is being offered with plant but bare of livestock.
Behind the scenes several parties are understood to be in discussions over the 52,326-hectare (129,299-acre) freehold property which has a good body of feed.
"We're talking with a number of parties who were not able to bid under the terms of the auction today," Mr Allpass said.
Selling agents said there had been 10 inspections of the property prior to the auction.
Victo and Murrumbah is estimated to carry 22,000 sheep plus cattle or 3500 cattle.
The property is fenced into 27 paddocks and there are six capped bores with piped artesian water systems.
Improvements include three homesteads, cattle yards, two shearing sheds, quarters and sheds.
