TO celebrate a jam-packed year within the agricultural industry, members and friends of the Rural Press Club gathered in Brisbane for their annual Christmas drinks.
The new ABC studios at South Bank were the venue for the group’s festivities, along with announcing the 2013 Rural Press Club Hall of Fame inductee for 2013.
Queensland Country Life’s photographer of 34 years, Rodney Green was awarded the honour and recognised for his contribution as one of Australia’s foremost agricultural photographers within the rural sector.

Unbeknownst to Rodney, his whole family also joined to crowd to congratulate the new legend on his award.
The Rural Press Club Hall of Fame was created in 2010 to recognise and celebrate the contribution of the rural media to the success of agriculture and the maintenance of the social fabric of rural and regional Queensland.
Its inaugural inductee was renowned agricultural journalist, the late Malcolm McCosker, who for many years travelled Queensland working side-by-side with Rodney.
Rural Press Club president, Lisa Palu, said the work of people like Rodney was fundamental to communicating the important role agriculture plays in the society, particularly to metropolitan audiences who, as consumers, were demanding more than ever.
“It is out pleasure to acknowledge Rodney’s role in communicating this message and to warmly welcome him to the Rural Press Club Hall of Fame.”
Queensland Country Life’s Brisbane editorial team was there to congratulate Rodney.
