AS NORTH Queensland gears up for improved feral animal control programs in the wake of an active wet season, regions are assessing the impact of past and possible future damage by feral pigs.
But imagine the damage this mind-boggling 220kg boar (pictured) inflicted in its presumably long life.
The pig was reportedly caught at Roy Hill Station near Newman in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
The image was released in 2009, and has provoked much speculation.
The original blurb with the photo claimed the station was alerted to the pig's existence when its dogs kept going missing.
However, Perth media reported the station owner didn't know anything about the matter, and said pigs weren't known to live in the region, anyway.
