VISITORS and locals can get a rare glimpse into life on an indigenous cattle station as part of the Barra Beef & Bulldust Expo.
A morning tour to Delta Downs, the indigenous-run cattle station, is on offer on Friday, November 4.
Delta Downs, which borders Karumba and covers 400,000 hectares, is unique as it is owned and operated by the indigenous Kurtijar people, with many following in their fathers' and grandfathers' footsteps as stockmen.
During the tour, visitors will see the cattle yards and learn how the local culture has been preserved on this traditional land.
The tour includes a 'smoko' with damper and cuppa at the Delta Downs homestead, time with indigenous elders and tastes of bush tucker, including pig, bush turkey and crabs.
The cost is $15 and bookings are essential via www.barrabeefandbulldust.com.au.
The Delta Downs Station Tour is one of many once-in-a-lifetime experiences on offer at the Barra Beef and Bulldust Expo.
