MATHISON Station, located 100km west of Katherine in the Northern Territory sold in post auction negotiations last Friday for an undisclosed figure.
The property, offered by Henry and Maria Townsend, reached $2.1 million on the floor of the auction rooms before being passed in to an interstate partnership. Shortly afterwards a contract was negotiated in excess of the passed-in figure to new owners Pancho Beef.
The property was sold on a bare basis and fronts the Victoria Highway.
Adjoining property Stapleton Station was also offered but was passed in at $3.2 million to an interstate party with grazing interests in the NT.
The property was offered walk in-walk out with approximately 1800 head of Brahman cross cattle including 700 breeders.
The property has been comfortably carrying 5500 head over the past three years and there is significant scope for improvement through the further introduction of improved pastures.
Vendors, Henry and Maria Townsend, are keen to wind up their grazing interests in the NT and are open to consider further offers through marketing agents Bernie Brosnan and Russell Wollf, Ray White Rural Katherine.
