THE Poulson family’s 45,000-hectare (111,000 acres) freehold aggregation in the St George/Dirranbandi district is on the market.
The properties are Kullinjah (7421ha), Wongalee (15,967ha), Tippendale (10,111ha), and Waldor (11,440ha). The properties are being offered as a whole, individually and with or without livestock and plant.
The aggregation is being by John and Brenda Poulson and their sons Greg and Mark. Offers to purchase close with Elders on March 4.
Wongalee is roughly in the centre of the aggregation with the other three properties within 40km. Kullinjah is on the Balonne Highway 45km west of St George and is the headquarters of the operation.
The Poulsons moved the Kullinjah and Wongalee 2001 and then acquired Tippendale in 2004 and Waldor in 2013.
The aggregation is currently running 5000 EU Poll Hereford cattle including about 2500 breeders, in addition to Dorper sheep and goat harvesting. It is operated as a EU accredited breeding, backgrounding and finishing operation. The cattle are mostly sold to Teys Australia at Beenleigh.
John Poulson said 75-100mm of rain had fallen across the properties since Christmas and the country well placed for an excellent winter.
All of the properties have predominantly buffell grass pasture and are marked about 75 per cent white on PMAV vegetation management maps.
Each of the properties is watered by artesian capped and piped bores with a trough servicing each 400ha.
Each of the paddocks on the four properties also feature access to laneways leading to steel yards.
Marketing agent Brendan Devine, Elders, said the aggregation was located in a traditionally safe grazing area and there had been no loss in production following the past three year dry spell.
