The Murweh shire is now more visible to tourists around the world through the internet, thanks to the development of an app.
Covering the communities of Charleville, Morven, Augathella and Cooladi, the technology is allowing potential visitors to see what the area has to offer before they even set off on their journey, potentially expanding their plans to stay and explore.
“It saves people carting heaps of brochures around,” marketing coordinator Monique Johnson said. “They can download information at home and have it on hand when they arrive.”
The app incorporates services from the Murweh visitors guide plus information from local businesses, who had been flocking to add their news.
Monique said it was also allowing locals to plan events in a more coordinated way.
More icons will be added as the need arises.
Development of the app began in March and is free to download.
