PARAWAY Pastoral Company is selling its famed Coonamble property Pier Pier Station
Expressions of interest for the 31,602 hectare (78,090 acre) property close with CBRE Agribusiness on October 5.
The semi-contiguous landholding is utilised for dryland cropping, sheep breeding and cattle finishing.
Under current management 2326ha of the property is arable with the scope to increase to 7000ha pursuant to the completion of a property vegetation plan.
Pier Pier features 5263ha of Macquarie Marshes floodplain subject to beneficial flooding, described as ideally suited to cattle finishing.
There is also 24,013ha of quality grazing land comprising a major body of Mitchell, buffel, couch and medic pastures.
Improvements include a 800-head set of ProWay cattle yards, 10 stand raised board shearing shed, yards, and laneways. There is also a circa 1930s four bedroom weatherboard homestead set in established gardens.
There has also been significant investment in water security through a reticulated system of equipped bores flowing to a network of tanks and concrete troughs. This is supplemented by numerous dams, to ensure the full utilisation of the grazing area.
According to its website, Paraway has bought more than 30 properties and has aggregated those into 21 pastoral businesses since the company was formed in 2007. Paraway says the 4.4 million hectare land holding has the capacity to run about 200,000 cattle and 240,000 sheep.
