A preference for younger bulls and the emergence of a new sire force were evident at the annual PB Fenech Spring Invitational Brahman Sale, Sarina over the weekend.
Vendors Paul and Brigid Fenech, PBF Stud, Sarina and their invited vendors, the Chasmac and Stewart Park Studs, Comet watched their physical product sell to all parts of the state with a strong repeat buyer support evident.
In a closer inspection and a breakdown of the offering, 12 PBF males averaged $15,583.
Market topper at $30,000 was the 23-month, 916kg, 133 EMA, 10/7mm, PBF McBrooker Manso 210/15 selling to Gary and Sherylea Hiette, Barambah Stud, Darts Creek.
A son of the operation’s leading sire, PBF McManus Manso, McBrooker Manso was one of six that averaged $16,667 and was offered in a three-quarter share full possession arrangement.
McManus (JDH Mr Hooks Manso (US)) was also the sire of the sale’s top selling $16,000 heifer.
Jason and Sherri Taylor, Creek Farm, Alpha outlaid $28,000 to secure the 22-month-old, 758kg, PBF McCisco Manso, also by McManus which was also offered in a three-quarter share full possession arrangement.
Setting the pace early were Rob and Sharon Flute, Chatfield Station, Richmond who took a trio for a $19,000 average including the $21,000 PBF Lazarus Manso (23-months) (PBF Weston Manso) (850kg), the $18,000 PBF McRucker Manso (22-months) (McManus) and the $18,000 sale opener, PBF Chalmers Manso (34-months) (PBF Noah Manso) (982kg).
Upon their return, Stewart, Stephanie and Tom Nobbs, Yoman Stud, Moura purchased two at a $17,000 average with their top selection being the $20,000, 754kg, PBF Genesis Manso (24-months) (Western Manso) and the $14,000 PBF Bolt Manso (34-months) (Noah Manso) (896kg).
Dave Roberts, Swans Lagoon Research Station, Millaroo took three for a $8667 medium including the $11,000 Chasmac Park Kody Manso 405 (23-months) (Elrose Kody Man) from invited vendors, Charles and Carmel McKinlay, Chasmac Park Stud, Comet and the $10,000 PBF McBryan Manso (24-months) (McManus).
John and Julie Borg, Harrybrandt, Nebo were another to return taking a pair to average $5500. Included in these was the $7000 acquisition, Stewart Park Hudson Manso (Lancefield A Hudson) (35-months) offered by Carl and Gail Morawitz, Stewart Park Stud, Comet.
The Head family, Koumala selected a pair for on average $7500 including a 35-month-old Lancefield A Hudson son from Chasmac Park.
The Symonds family, Sarina selected a trio to average $6000, topping at $9000 for the 34-month-old, PBF Phelps Manso (Noah Manso) (888kg).
Lance Trevor, Gracemere secured the $10,000 McManus son, PBF McClark Manso (24-months) while the Head family, Koumala took two Chasmac Park entries for $7500 each.
Top selling heifer at $16,000 was the yearling PBF Cherie Manso (PBF McManus/JDH Bross Manso/JDH Madison De Manso) going to Emmanuel and Josie Pace and family, Blue Water Hills Stud, Mackay.
Ian Trigger Hopewell Stud, Biggenden outlaid $12,000 to secure the 11-month-old, PBF Chloe Manso (PBF Western Manso/FBC D Jacko Manso/LL Sugar Ely Manso 727) while James Kent, JK Stud, Goovigen selected the $10,000 PBF Raquel Manso (11-months) (Noah Manso).
Springsure interests, the Nobbs family, Carnarvon Cattle Company, Mt Vexation, picked out the $8000, Noah daughter, PBF Bronte Manso (12-months).
Dean Rasmussen, Droonoodoo Stud, Kingaroy paid $8500 for another of the Noah daughters in the yearling, PBF Sharni Manso.
Another Noah daughter, PBF Pelite Manso (nine months) made $7000 selling to Don Sivyer and family, Farleigh. In all four Noah daughters averaged $8375.
The Symonds family, Sarina selected the $5000 PBF Esposito Manso, a 15-month-old by PBF Pracha Manso (JDH Mr Florencio Manso 45/7).
Anne Crowley, Balnagowan selected a $4000 daughter of PBF Allakai Manso 986/12 aged 11-months.
