German tillage equipment manufacturer, Lemken has released the Heliodor 9 disc harrow range targeting broadacre farms with a version measuring 16 metres working width available.
With a tillage performance of up to 25 hectares an hour, the Heliodor 9 combined with the Gigant 12 S trailing hitch system delivers the width to ensure high level efficiency.
With the launch of the Heliodor 9, the disc diameter has been enlarged to 510 millimetres, up 45mm from the previous Helidor 8 model, and bearing size has also been increased.
Lenken says this ensures a longer disc service life and allows working depths up to 14 centimetres.
The Heliodor is combined with the company’s Gigant system carrier which attaches to the tractor drawbar and the four-metre sections of the Heliodor are attached to the two three-point linkages on the Gigant system.
The self-leveling lower links on the Gigant ensure the two 8-metre Heliodor sections independently adjust to the ground contours.
The self-leveling suspension provided for all four of the four-metre Heliodor sections delivers depth adjustment over the disc harrow’s full working width with precise depth control including in uneven, undulating terrain.
The three-point linkages are connected to double-acting control units to ensure that weight can be transferred from the system carrier to the Heliodor sections, especially in hard soils.
With independent disc connections, the Gigant System allows the discs behind the tractor to be set to penetrate deeper to account for tyre ruts.
The Heliodor is fitted with 800mm wide tyres and folds to 3.50m wide and 4.0m high for easy movement between paddocks.
