BEEF producers Jack’s Creek took out the title of World’s Best Steak for the second year running in September.
The Wagyu and Black Angus producers based at Breeza on NSW’s productive Liverpool Plains claimed the title at the World Steak Championships held in the United Kingdom.
The winning steak came from a Wagyu F2+ grain-fed for 450 days at Wagyu specialist feedlot, Maydan, on Queensland’s Darling Downs. The sirloin entered was wet aged for 40 days then dry aged for five days.
It was entered by Jack’s Creek’s German distributor Albers Food.
Jack’s Creek managing director Patrick Warmoll said considerable time was spent selecting the entry and this win confirmed Australia was producing the best beef in the world.
Australia Agricultural Company’s Wylarah Wagyu brand also won a gold medal.
Overall, Australian entries were awarded three out of the nine gold medals, three of the 12 silver medals and three of the 12 bronze medals in the competition.
