THE impressive Northern Rivers cattle property Carnana Station sold prior to its scheduled auction on December 9.
Located on the Mann River, north west of Grafton, the 1101 hectare (2721 acre) property was sold walk in, walk out with a Wagyu herd and plant and machinery.
Neither the buyer’s name or the sale price was disclosed.
Carnana is decribed as a low running-cost property with rich volcanic soils. It is estimated to run 750 breeding cows.
The property is described as exceptionally well watered with a 3.4km of Mann River frontage, 7.3km of Coombadjha Creek frontage and 26 dams. Some 300ha has been previously ben cultivated. The average annual rainfall is 1200mm.
Improvements include a six bedroom home, a large set of yards well setup for AI and ET. There are 20 well fenced paddocks with a lane way system throughout.
The marketing of Carnana Station was handled by Geoff Hayes from Ray White Rural in Glen Innes. Mr Hayes said the property had received 15 inspections from potential buyers.
