European farm machinery manufacturer, Amazone, has acquired the Austrian built Vogel & Noot plough range which will now be available in Australia through Claas dealers.
The Amazone Group purchased the plough production facility of Vogel & Noot, based in Hungary in late 2016, after the Austrian parent company filed for insolvency in August 2016.
Amazone will use the Vogel & Noot range to complement its own range and the acquisition will ensure continuity in the provision of spare parts.
The company’s Cayros mounted reversible ploughs are available in five series.
The M series comprises three or four furrow ploughs suitable for tractors up to 88 kilowatts.
M series models feature a sturdy 120 x 100 x 8 milimetre beam, an 80mm diameter turnover shaft, stepless furrow width adjustment, a 78 centimetre beam clearance and an inter body clearance of 95 and 102cm.
The larger XM, XMS and XS series, suitable for 102kW, 147kW and 191kW tractors, respectively, offer even stronger components and construction.
The top-of-the-range Cayros XS Pro series comprises three models with four or six furrows.
These high performance models, suitable for 279kW tractors, feature a strong 200 x 150 x 10mm beam, a 120mm diameter turnover shaft, a 90cm beam clearance and an inter-body clearance of up to 105cm.
Amazone products are distributed in Australia through Claas Harvest Centres.
Amazone product manager, Craig Hopkins said all Cayros ploughs can be equipped with mechanical or hydraulic furrow width adjustment and mechanical, half-automatic or fully automatic hydraulic stone protection.
Cayros mouldboards are manufactured using a special heat treatment process.
“This hardening process results in high impact strength, prolonged longevity, less pulling power requirement and therefore reduced fuel consumption,” Mr Hopkins said.
