Outback to Oyster Cocktail Party will include a bachelor auction

Along with beer, wine and canapes, guests at the annual fundraiser will have the opportunity to go home with a new country man.

Six eligible men plus a surprise bachelor from outback Queensland will go under the hammer as part of the Catch Your Match 2017 auction. 

The winning bidders will buy themselves the rights to go on a date with their man. 

All money raised on the night will be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

“Without giving too much away, we have lots of surprises in store for our guests this year including the ‘Catch your Match’ Bachelor Auction,” committee member Holly Ziesemer said.

“A fun way for young people to engage with the rural scene.”

The six bachelors were asked a series of questions to get to know them a little better.

I have a burning desire to run for the Mayor of Chinchilla in the 2018 election. “Let’s make Chinchilla great again”.

Due to the fact that I have been nominated for catch your match 2017 I’d say that is has been largely unsuccessful.

What would your hometown date be like? Where would you go and who would be introduced to the lucky girl?

My hometown date would kick off with a lick run out through the Mulga country I was meant to do the previous day, followed by a long dusty trip into the local Bollon Hotel, where we would both enjoy a couple of XXX Gold pots (no schooners available) alongside one of the best Fisherman’s Baskets the west has to offer. My lucky date would also have the privilege of meeting outback celebrity and fellow bachelor Dingo Don, the greatest dog trapper to ever roam the land.

The list is endless, but I have been known to cook two minute noodles in one minute 45.

What are you looking for in a woman?

My ideal woman would very closely resemble Jennifer Aniston. It would also tick a few boxes if she was to inherit a large amount of country with no siblings to share it with.

Well firstly you’d make sure she could last the drive to Dirranbandi by herself for a start. If she makes it out she’s in for a real treat. I’d reserve a table at the Hebel General Store on a glorious Friday night for a candlelit dinner celebrating over a few bottles of red. We’d then poke over the road to the local Hebel Pub to have a crack at the joker jackpot draw, introducing her to the locals and fam. For the highlight of the night, I’d then test her driving skills dodging roos on the way home.

All I’ll say is it’s an experience you won’t walk away exactly easy from.

I’m probably the purest example of a queen street cowboy you’ll ever find.

What is your ultimate date?

Game of barefoot bowls at the West Toowong Bowls Club followed by a romantic dinner at the Paddo and then a ride on the Johnny Ringo’s bucking bull to see what you’re made of.

What would your hometown date be like? Where would you go and who would be introduced to the lucky girl?

A personalised farm tour of the family property, followed by an afternoon of fishing on the banks of the Dumaresq river, then poke into the Stockman Hotel for what’s been rumoured to be Australia’s best parmy. From there I would introduce her to smoker’s area regulars, Mick and Terry.

Jordan Lowe and I will only reveal our special talents to the highest bidder and for the right price of course. However, we are willing to give a select few a sneak peek directly after the auction at our main watering hole...the Pole.

She would preferably have some nice hectares, however not essential. As well as a love for beer and the occasional lung lolly. Also, someone who won’t give me too much lip about my dad bod.
