MEET Wooly Woolberforce.
For some, it will be a case of re-acquainting themselves with Wooly Woolberforce.
The cartoon ram who became a mascot for the National Wool Museum in the 1990s is set to be re-launched.
There's not much Wooly doesn't do- scuba-diving, eating cake, eating ice-cream at the beach, riding motorcycles and just generally looking dapper with a bowler hat, bowtie and a walking stick in the shape of a boomerang.
Wooly's re-emergence into the world will be seen on t-shirts and merchandise of varying colours and designs, some with the tag "I was at the games" slogan on them.
The official back-story to Wooly is that he was a lamb in the outback that left his friends to become a city bloke and travel the world via his own airline, Woolberforce Airlines.
His "business card" reads: "I am an irresistible, lovable sheep person. Please take me on your journey to see the world."
It also includes a spot of motivational phrasing with: "Live the life you have imagined."
The founder of Wooly Woolberforce, Christine Sturgeon, says she hopes bringing Wooly back will help connect children and families to the wool industry.
Back in 1991, which was the year of the sheep, the character appeared on sweaters, mugs, fridge magnets and other merchandise.
Wooly will also be brought to life via a large costume, ready to greet children and have a photo taken.
Ms Sturgeon said there are plans to release CD recorded with various Wooly-related songs on it.
Ms Sturgeon said she and Wooly will be at the Royal Queensland Exhibition (The Ekka) in August.
"I am at Albany Creek Square shopping centre (in Brisbane) for the next four weeks to sell the t-shirts so everyone that loves a sheep, come on down to the Creek," she said.
"There are another 42 designs of Wooly that will be released in due time."
Ms Sturgeon said had valuable support from Jassay Finance (which she refers to as "Wooly's bank") in getting Wooly back into the public eye.
