A total yarding of 1125 cattle at Elders Harristown Saleyards on April 24 - Elders share was 795 head. All export cattle dearer as were heavy feeders, trade and store cattle firm. Best bulls ex Highfields weighing 560kg realised 313.2c/kg while heavy bulls at 860kg topped at 280c/kg. Very few bullocks yarded with the best from Mike & Mary Donohoe, Mt Darry weighing 605kg reached 310.2c/kg. Best heavy feeder steers at 457kg topped 339.2c/kg. Heavy heifers also from Donohoe Family weighing 473kg reached 305.2c/kg. A line of 92 cows averaged 514kg ex Wandoan averaged 237.3c/kg to top at 258.2c/kg. Top of the trade steers yarded by Pat Elsden, Pittsworth 455kg sold to 340c/kg. Trade heifers from Dowling Farms, Geham made to a top of 318.2c/kg. Feeder steers suited to the trade from Trevor Vonhoff ex Anduramba reached 379.2c/kg. Lightweight Angus steers A/c Campbell Family, Goondiwindi topped at 450.2c/kg. Angus steers from Wayne and Judy Schefe made 430.2c/kg while a lightweight pen of Santa steers from HE Griffiths made to 436.2c/kg.
TOOWOOMBA PIG SALE
A total of 187 pigs were yarded today. Some pork sold dearer with most sales on par to last week. Sows firm to little cheaper. Store pigs in the largest numbers for some weeks sold a little cheaper across the board. Prime pork $260, prime light bacon $225, prime bacon $200, boars $42, sows to $230, stores $136, weaners $110 and suckers $62.
