Hot topics of renewable energy and violence against women were tackled and debated by high school students.

Students from five Highlands high schools spent their Saturday debating global issues as part of the Model Un Assembly in Moss Vale.

They debated renewable energy and violence against women from their country’s point-of-view on May 13 from council chambers.

Moss Vale High School took top prize for their arguments as Sweden.

Oxley College came second as Nigeria and Frensham was awarded the Peace prize as Germany.

The Moss Vale High and Frensham teams will now go on to debate in Canberra.
