Yarrawonga & Waco Santa Gertudis bull sale has started with an equal record price for a Santa Gertrudis bull sold in Australia.
After a frenzy of bidding, Waco Floyd, owned by David and Suzanne Bassingthwaighte, sold to $90,000 during the bull sale at Wallumbilla in south west Queensland.
The bull sold to the Hatton family, Diamond H Santa Gertrudis Stud, Wandoan.
The 31-month-old record priced polled sire is by Waco Yale E880 (P) and out of Waco G885 (P) cow.
The bull weighed 1070kg with an Eye Muscle Area of 148 centimetres squared and 10 millimetres of fat on the rump and 7 millimetres of fat on the rib area.
The Bassingwaighte family, Yarrawonga & Waco Santa Gertudis Studs, Wallumbilla will retain a 1/8 share in the bull for herd use only.
Diamond H Santa Gertrudis, Wandoan is continuing to purchase stud Santa Gertrudis cattle during the sale, which is still underway with 200 head of bulls cataloged for sale.
