Here are all the dates leading to the Queensland state election.

As you’ve probably heard, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk called an election on Sunday to be held Saturday, November 25.

So where to from here? Read on and find out the key dates and times between now and then.

5pm Friday November 3 Close of Roll

Want to vote but you haven’t registered or you need to change your address? Well, you better do it by this Friday 5pm or you won’t be able to vote. You can update your enrolment here.

Noon, Tuesday, November 7 Close of nominations

Want to run in the election? That’s time you need to get your paperwork in by.

2.30pm Tuesday, November 7 Ballot draw

That’s the time the nominated candidates will be put in a hat and drawn in random order. All candidates will want No 1 on the ballot because the donkey vote is real...Hee-haw!

9am Monday November 13 to 6pm Friday November 24 Pre-polling voting – declaration in person

So you’ve made arrangements to visit your great-aunt Matilda in Perth on November 25 so can’t vote on the day? Well, these are the dates you can rock up to your pre-poll office and vote in advance. This is an increasingly popular option for people who are too busy to vote on the day, though it’s bad news for the electoral sausage sizzles.

2pm Sunday October 29 to 7pm Wednesday November 22 Pre-polling voting – declaration postal applications

Want to go postal? That’s the window you have to apply for a postal vote.

4pm Tuesday November 7 to 6pm Saturday November 25 Pre-polling voting – declaration postal voting

And if you are going postal that’s the window you have to send in your vote.

2pm Sunday October 29 to 7pm Wednesday November 22 Pre-polling voting – electoral visitor applications

This is the window you have to apply if you can’t leave your home and you need someone from the Queensland Electoral Commission to visit you.

4pm Tuesday November 7 to 6pm Saturday November 25 Pre-polling voting – electoral visitor voting

If you have applied for a visitor, this is the window in which they’ll come.

9am Tuesday November 14 to 6pm Saturday November 25 Pre-polling voting – declared institution

This is the window the QEC will visit hospital, aged care facilities and the like, to accept voting.

5pm Friday November 17 Last day for lodging how to vote cards.

So you want to hand out how-to-vote cards for your candidate on election day? This is the last day to submit HTV cards for approval to distribute on the day.

8am- 6pm Saturday November 25 Polling day

Yay! Sausage sizzle!!!

We will publish the list of polling stations near you before the election date.

5pm Tuesday, December 5 Cut off of return of postal ballots

Make sure your postal ballot gets in by that date or your vote won’t count.
