If Labor wins the seat of Toowoomba North, it will win a majority in the Parliament.
That was the prediction from Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, who arrived in the Garden City on Wednesday to bolster support for her Toowoomba North candidate, Kerry Shine.
The seat is currently held by the LNP's Trevor Watts on a slim 1.6 per cent margin, and it is among the top 10 most marginal seats in Queensland.
Mr Shine first won the seat for Labor in 2001, when then-premier Peter Beattie's government was re-elected, and held the seat under Labor governments until he was ousted in 2012 when then-LNP leader Campbell Newman romped into Parliament, with an overwhelming 78-seat majority.
He unsuccessfully challenged for the seat in 2015, when Labor narrowly formed government with the help of independent Peter Wellington.
Ms Palaszczuk said Toowoomba North would be a key seat in the election.
"If we are to get a majority, I need Kerry Shine there on Saturday night as the new Labor member for Toowoomba North," she said.
"In Toowoomba North, it could decide whether or not Labor gets a majority, whether or not Kerry gets to be the member."
Ms Palaszczuk said the seat would swing with the government.
Mr Shine said history showed Toowoomba North went to Labor with a majority Labor government.
"I've got a good feeling that history will repeat itself with the Palaszczuk support today," he said.
Ms Palaszczuk and LNP leader Tim Nicholls have both visited the Toowoomba seat twice during the campaign.
