FOR those who wanted to get hands on, the Goldacres Expo at Ballarat Victoria supplied a test paddock with six units available to trial.
Goldacres, sales and marketing manager, Stephen Richards said the G8CT had been particularly popular.
“It’s a track machine with a 48 metre boom incorporating a tri-folding design,” he said.
“The tri-folding boom has been under development for the last two years.”
Mr Richards said the new design added flexibility for farmers and contractors to adjust the boom width depending on the size of the paddock being sprayed or to avoid obstacles.
“The 48 metre boom can fold down to 36 or 20 metres,” he said.
“If you have a small paddock, or a few trees, you can fold it down.”
Mr Richards said the boom featured a steel inner wing, with an aluminium middle and outer section.
I”ts been quite a feat to get the ultimate balance of weight and strength,” he said.
“The boom ride is second to none.
“As with all Tri-tech booms it has three way suspension which tracks the ground really well.
“Its proven to be a really popular boom.”
