Feature Breed

In 2012 the Murray Grey Breed will feature at the NSW Beef Spectacular and Trade Field Day with some of the countries leading cattle to line up for their share in the $50,000 prize pool for the event. Many of the Murray Grey cattle that have competed in the event over the past 4 years have gone on to win at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Royal shows.

Led Cattle

The stud cattle judging will showcase over 25 breeds of cattle of all Bos Tauraus, Bos Indicus and Eurpoean breeds with up to 600 head on show. Judging will be conducted in breeds with the champions pitted against each other in the Interbreed, where Supreme exhibit ribbons are awarded for Bull, Female and Group. Stud cattle attending the NSW Beef Spectacular and Trade Field Day have gone on to win the Horden and Urquhart Trophies at Sydney Royal and Supreme Exhibits at Melbourne Royal, showing the class of cattle that are on display over the 2 days. The stud cattle compete for the richest prize pool of $50,000 in Australia.

Metalcorp logoMetalcorp Pens of 3 Bulls

The Metalcorp Pen of 3 Bulls competition is an opportunity for stud and commercial breeders to show their progeny without having to break in their bulls for the show ring. This competition in it's 5th year has been the fastest growing competition at the NSW Beef Spectacular and Trade Field Day due to it's commercial focus to showcase paddock reared bulls ready to work. The Metalcorp Pen of 3 Bulls competition has drawn the largest crowds during judging over the past 4 years and will deliver a full complement of breeds and ages again in 2012.

The Pen of 3 Steers or Heifers hoof and hook competition is a hoof and hook competition from Trade (380 to 480kg) and Export cattle (481kg+) judged live at the event and then processed and judged at Teys Australia's Wagga Wagga plant. The steers are on the grounds for one day only to be judged and then transported to Teys Australia and in 2012 will be judged on Wednesday March 14.

Attention: There will not be any led steers or heifers this year
due to a lack of numbers previously

Heifer Show

The NSW Beef Spectacular Heifer Show incorporates a comprehensive showing of heifers of different ages, as well as a junior judging program and junior paraders competition. The Heifer show includes junior competitors up to the age of 25 in four categories and welcomes those with and without cattle to compete. The competition attracts some of the best heifers across the state to compete in what is growing as one of the fastest moving competitions on the program.
