Dairy can now breed for feed efficiency

Australian Dairy Herd Improvement Scheme (ADHIS) general manager Daniel Abernethy told producers and industry representatives because there was variation in the breed's feed use efficiency and the trait was heritable, strong genetic gains could be made to breed cows that produced the same amount of milk with less feed.
