Top priced bull was GLPL500511 Silverleigh Liberty, offered by vendor Gary Porter, Silverleigh Senepols, and purchased by Peter and Vicki Howard, Duckponds, Emerald, who paid $11,000 for the 24-month-old bull.
Liberty, an 868kg bull with an 80 per cent motility and 124sq cm EMA, boasted a 39.5cm scrotal circumference.
Mr and Mrs Howard purchased two bulls on the day, for a gross of $17,500 and an average of $8750.
Liberty will go into the paddock over Angus/Charbray females.
Buying big at the sale were the Perrett family, Bingawarra, Rolleston, who were absent on the day but purchasing through SBB.
They purchased six bulls for a gross of $33,000 and an average of $5500.
Going home with four bulls was John Creed, Cecilwood, Raglan, for a gross of $17,000 and an average of $4250.
Mr Porter, who only offered two bulls at the sale, said he was thrilled with the results.
He said he had expected Liberty to be in the top five bulls of the sale, and said to walk away with the top price was a great result for his small stud, which runs only 25 breeders in the Oakey region.
