LARGE scale Thargomindah property Besm has sold for its asking price of $2.25 million after being listed for sale by Darryl Langton from Landmark Harcourts earlier this year.
The 45,600 hectare (112,680 acre) perpetual pastoral holding was offered by Tim and Meredith Ecroyd who are planning to semi retire to their property near Toowoomba. It was bought by a western NSW grazier who was introduced to the sale by agent Greg Seiler from Landmark Bourke. The sale price is equal to about $49/ha ($20/acre).
Besm is estimated to safely carry 1000 cows and calves.

Located 48km north east of Thargomindah and 161km west of Cunnamulla, the property features 30 per cent grey soil coolibah, yapunyah, lignum and canegrass country subject to low level beneficial flood from Bulloo River and Bundilla Creeks. There are areas of softer red loams with gidyea, sandalwood, ellangowan and gidyea flats intersperse the property with the balance soft mulga country running to small areas of mulga ridges on eastern boundary.
Besm is described as well-watered by two capped flowing artesian bores piped to tanks and troughs in addition to wells, dams and permanent and semi-permanent water holes. There are three sets of cattle yards, a homestead, cottage, quarters, woolshed, workshop and machinery shed.
