Preparations are well underway for annual sales of cattle and sheep from the Riverina districts surrounding Hay, NSW following falls of 12 to 25mm overnight Tuesday.
Geoff McDougall, Landmark says the 2000 head nominated for the August 23 cattle sale, with Elders, have freshened well on short feed well hardened by that string of June/July frosts.
“There promises to be plenty of quality, and weights will generally run from 200 to 350kg,” Mr McDougall said.
Nominated lines include: 280 Angus and Angus/Charolais mixed sex weaners from Mt George Station, Broken Hill – 180 Organic Hereford m/s weaners from Cowker Wells, Wilcannia, and 85 Charolais/Santa steers from Lignum Park, Ivanhoe.
