McHale V660 and V640 balers get an upgrade

HIGHER quality bales at high speeds is the promise made by McHale.

Modifications to the V660 & V640 McHale balers include uprades to the rotor, auger system and floor.

Power Farming Group Australia (PFG) sales manager, Ian Young said the modifications resulted in more leaf product in each bale.

“As a result of the higher density achieved, each bale provides an even higher quality feed in consistently shaped bales,” he said.

In a product release PFG said the substantial modifications to the baler allowed improved bale handling at high speeds, including  an increase to the rotor diameter, now 40mm, which had improved the balers  volume of intake.

“New larger crop augers direct crop evenly into the rotor,” it said.

“The floor angle has changed to aid the flow of crop into the chamber.”

Both balers have two metre high volume pick ups, which will improve handling, said PFG.

“New large lateral augers further improve the flow of crop into the fifteen blade chopper unit, or directly into the bale chamber of the V640,” it said.

PFG said the balers now come with a new flexible floor, which would adjust to allow larger lumps of grass to feed through to the chamber, as well as assisting the increased intake capacity, and flow of the crop.

“The bale chamber has 3 heavy-duty, reinforced, endless belts, which ensures that they can absorb and apply high pressure to the material in the bale chamber,” it said.

“Numerous technical improvements allow the V660 to operate at fast speeds, whilst maintaining its ability to produce consistently dense, uniform cylindrical bales.

“The new density valve and the ultrasonic bale shape indicator (which detects the movement of the belt), combine with the other new design elements to make this possible.”

PFG said other improvements included adjustable net tension from the cab, cleaning augers as a standard and a bale kicker.
