Agco Corporation, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Martin Richenhagen, said the company was honored to receive the awards.

“This recognition underlines our commitment to design, innovation and quality,” he said.

Mr Richenhagan has previously said Agco started with a blank sheet of paper for the design of the Ideal header, incorporating key findings from customer surveys.

“The Ideal combine is the result of many years of R&D, countless engineering hours, committed teamwork, and leading industry expertise.”

In a media release, Agco said the jury acknowledged the Ideal’s innovative features and its unique, elegant graphite livery.

The fourth generation of the Valtra A series tractors were also recognised for the completely new design, including an innovative cabin construction and choice of multiple chassis options.

“The new A Series also offers farmers further customisation options to tailor to their specific needs and wishes,” it said.

“Valtra has been inspired by the basic principles of Scandinavian design which is reflected in the clear lines of the exterior of its tractors.

“In addition, Valtra’s design work puts a strong emphasis on usability, ergonomics, safety, durability, serviceability and productivity of the tractor.”

The Valtra brand was also recognised for design work in 2016 and 2017.

“Agco’s strong research and development backbone enables our global brands to create new designs, functions and concepts that appeal to our global customer base,” Mr Richenhagen said.
