URBAN warriors and those wanting a bit more comfort on their trip into town can look forward the release of the new Hilux Halo series from market leader Toyota.
Pitched at the high end of the market, the new series are styled by the company as refined but rugged.
In dealers from April 26, the four wheel drive (4WD), Rugged, Rugged X and Rogue models share the same mechanical specifications as the base SR5 or SR models, with a 2.8 litre turbo-diesel engine, though the range will only be available in a dual cab configuration.
Toyota Australia, vice president sales and marketing, Sean Hanley said the three new halo models were built in Thailand but designed specifically for Australian customers.
“These three new Hilux heroes give customers a bold new choice in the market whether they are looking for a stylish and refined top-end ute for work and play or need enhanced protection, functionality and recovery capability for serious off-roading,” he said.
Mr Hanley said the new models were designed over three years, with all new components fully integrated and engineered into the core vehicle.
“The Rugged X, Rogue and Rugged are not accessorised special editions,” he said.
“They are fully fledged new Hilux models that our customers demanded and we can be justifiably proud that they were designed and developed here in Australia.
Mr Hanley said the Rugged and Rugged X are available in both manual and automatic transmissions, while the Rogue will only be made available in and automatic.
