FARMERS will stage a last ditch protest outside Parliament House in Brisbane over the Palaszczuk government’s handling of vegetation management laws.
AgForce president Grant Maudsley said farmers would keep fighting for fair and balanced vegetation management laws and a day of action was being planned for next Tuesday (May 1).
“We want as many farmers and supporters of agriculture as possible to join us for a rally outside Parliament House in Brisbane gathering from 8.15am and concluding before parliament starts at 9.30am,” Mr Maudsley said.
“For those who can’t make it to Brisbane, we’re asking you to join in a virtual rally at the same time as the rally outside Parliament House.”
Mr Maudsley said farmers should dress in green shirts to symbolise that farmers are the true environments.
“Take photos and videos and post on social media using the hashtags #FairLaws4Farmers and #YourFoodOurFuture,” he said.
“We need to maintain our resolve and send a strong, united message to the state’s politicians that they can and must come up with a better answer to an issue that’s been divisive for two decades.”
