Somerville House head of boarding Madonna Hennessy and admissions manager Vanessa Saxby were on deck at Beef Australia 2018 fielding questions from parents interested in sending their daughters to the boarding and day student school situated on Brisbane’s Southbank.
Ms Hennessy said the school provides a well-rounded experience for students.
“We’re a high performing school educationally, and combined with our strong music, pastoral and sporting programs, and the priority we place on students being actively involved in community service ensures the girls will enjoy a rich and rewarding journey to graduation at Somerville House,” she said.
We have 1420 students enrolled at Somerville House this year, including 130 boarders and 22 international students from as far away as China and Russia.”
She said there is no boarder between boarding and day students at Somerville House.
“It’s a very harmonious environment, to learn and for the boarders live in.”
Ms Hennessy said Beef Australia 2018 provides a great opportunity for the school to provide information to families thinking about sending the daughter to Somerville House, while also having a chat with parents of current and past students.
“A lot of our boarders come from country Qld, so Beef offers an ideal time to meet these people in their own environment.
