AGTECH enthusiasts from across the southern hemisphere will come together early next year in what is being billed as the first event of it’s kind.
Experts from around the world will join delegates from the Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific to discuss how technology can shape the future of agricultural at the inaugural AgriFutures Australia evokeAg conference set to run in February 2019 in Melbourne.
Agribusiness has thrown their support behind the conference, with Elders announcing a platinum partnership for the event.
Elders, managing director, Mark Allison said the recent launch of Elder’s new specialist agricultural consulting business, Thomas Elders Consulting, and R&D division, the Thomas Elder Institute, made the partnership with evokeAg an ideal fit.
“We’re thrilled to be supporting this cutting-edge event that will bring the world and Australia’s brightest agriculture and technology minds together,” he said.
“We are in an exciting growth period as a business so it’s important for us to support initiatives that will nurture our industry and help to move Australian agriculture into the future.”
AgriFutures Australia, managing director, John Harvey praised the willingness of Elders to take the lead in partnering with the unique event.
“Elders is a truly iconic and respected brand in rural and regional Australia, with a long history of supporting farming families for 179 years,” he said.
“Along with this impressive legacy, Elders has a modern and future-driven focus, investing in innovations and technology to positively impact Australian agriculture and productivity, which makes them the perfect partner for our event.”
Mr Harvey said the partnership further signifies the importance of collaboration to generate and disseminate new ideas across the country.
“evokeAG is a rare opportunity for the agrifood tech sector to have the conversations required to mature the innovation ecosystem and take the industry to new heights,” he said.
“We need to consider what it is that we can do in Australia that no one else can, how best to grow the sector and expedite technology outcomes.”
Mr Harvey said the conference was pitched at entrepreneurs, farmers, investors, producers, startups, and those working in agribusiness, finance, and IT.
evokeAG 2019 will be held at the Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th February 2019
