UTILITY tractors are the ultimate shed hack, capable of doing small power jobs efficiently while having enough grunt to shift round bales or unload pallets.
At Commonwealth Bank AgQuip, New Holland launched a new entrant to the market, the T4S.
New Holland, product manager, Mark Crakanthorp said the T4S was available in three models, 41 kilowatt (55 horsepower), 48kW (65hp) and the 56kW (75hp).
“This machine is a cab alternative to the TT4, that has been available for about five years now,” he said.
“One of the big selling features of the machine is the depot installed front-end loader.
“This is new ground for New Holland, bringing that in-house and supplying it as a package to market.”
Mr Crakanthorp said people wanting a small loader, capable of acting as an all-rounder would be interested in the model.
“At a pinch, if you were buying in bulk feed by the pallet you can get that off the truck, or heavy round bale silage, it can handle it,” he said.
“You could see it as a shed hack for broadacre enterprises, or something for smaller stock or mixed enterprises, it would also suit the dairy farmer or hobby enterprise.
“Its also a fit for extreme climates, be they hot and tropical where you need air conditioning, or the colder climates, you have a good sized cabin.”
Mr Crakanthorp said New Holland started with a blank page for the T4S, allowing them to add comfort touches not generally seen at the lower end of the cabin market.
“It means little things that don’t cost much at the factory level, a flat platform, good vision and tactile hand controls are included,” he said.
Mr Crackanthorp said a three cylinder Iveco Heritage common rail engine powered the range.
