THE Brisbane Valley Santa sale at Toogoolawah cracked a top of $14,000 to average $4854 today.
Sale topper was the poll Welbatch M003, which sold to E&H Matthews & Co, Blue Range Santas, Charters Towers. Described as an early maturing bull with excellent tropical skin, the 832kg, 27-month-old had a 127sq cm eye muscle area and a 37cm scrotal circumference.
John and Judy Tones, Wiann, Jandowae, paid the second top price of $10,000 for Coulsonview Buff, another poll, classified S bull. The clean coated, deep poll bull had a 134sq cm EMA and 5.6 per cent intramuscular fat.
Riverina Wool paid $9000 for the poll scur Hayleigh 981. The 20 month old entered the ring weighing 768kg and with a 135sq cm EMA.
Volume buyer was the Lord family, Kilterry, Julia Creek, who took home 14.
Herb and Sue George, Glen Valley Pastoral Company, Jundah, bought five.
A total of 48 bulls were sold for an 88pc clearance rate.
Studs participating in this year’s sale were Hayleigh, Durong; Arioca, Linville; Warrillee, Boonah; Tyndale, Nanango; Coulsonview, Boonah; and Welbatch, Mummulgum, NSW.
