AgriFutures Australia has announced the program for its EvokeAg event, in time for attendees to purchase the last of the discounted early bird tickets.
Pitched to all stakeholders of the agricultural and food technology space, the event promises to raise the bar of agtech events, by offering a high level, dynamic program across the themes food, farm and future.
AgriFutures Australia, general manager, communications and capacity building, Belinda Allitt, said the global event will bring together leading experts to discuss just what future generations will consume and how it will be produced.
“The timing of this event coincides with one of the toughest droughts ever faced in Australia and we know that science and technology could play an important role in finding a solution,” she said.
The two day program includes 50 guest speakers covering a diverse range of topics including nutrition, health and wellness markets, advances in wine production, the role of genetics and cell biology in agrifoods, robotics, global venture capital investments and insights into consumer trends.

Ms Allitt said the program focused on food, farm and future as broad themes, with speakers approached both locally and internationally from across the themes for the conference.
“We mapped out who were doing amazing things across the world in these areas,” she said.
“We have tried to get a good mix of the themes and to bring in both international speakers, so we can learn and think about how to do things differently, as well as local speakers, who are already though leaders in their space and driving change.”
Ms Allitt said the event aimed to inspire the room and lift the level of the conversation up so that it could provoke thought.
“We are assuming a bit of base-level understanding of the space, because then we can get straight into what we need to talk about,” she said.
“We need to provoke and evoke, and get people to collaborate and connect, to take the conversation to the next level.
“We can really raise the bar on collaboration to move agrifood-tech in Australia, New Zealand and Asia into the next level.”
Ms Allitt said the EvokeAg event was different to others as it aimed to bring the entire ‘ecosystem’ or supply chain into the conversation.
“We want the farmer in the room, we would love the consumer to come along and see whats going on, we want investors, researchers, corporates and food companies, we want the accelerators and incubators, along with government and industry, we need the start-ups, entrepreneurs and thought leaders,” she said.
“Because if we can get all of them in the room, that is what will make this event really powerful and truly different to other events in the market.”
Choose your own adventure
Ms Allitt said attendees should expect an event like no other on the calendar.
“People will also need to do a little bit before hand, in terms of choosing their own journey,” she said.
“From early January, people will be able to register for the panel, masterclass or speaker sessions they want to attend.
“People will be required to choose their own adventure, or curate their own program.”
Ms Allitt said the event had support from across all sectors of agribusiness, including platinum sponsor Elders and gold sponsors Westpac and Visy.
