With more than 30,000 trees planted in the past 20 years, Mark and Lynne Peterson's irrigation dairy farm, near Nathalia in north-central Victoria, stands out as a lush green oasis in the midst of farms that are relatively bare. The atmosphere created is one of life, fertility and lushness, surprising in a district where the long-term annual rainfall is only about 375 millimetres.
