There were 840 head yarded at Elders Harristown Saleyards on Monday. Quality export lines improved in rate with lesser quality stores still proving difficult to move.
Best heavy bulls reached 274.2c/kg to return $2154 a/c J and K Wilkes who also penned the top priced bullocks at 314.2c/kg to return $2070. Feeder steers a/c K and B Schmaling, Goombungee weighing 393kg sold to 283.2c. Heavy heifers sold to a top of 273.2c to return $1352.
Cows sold to improved prices across the board with heavy cows topping at 238.2c. Angus cows ex Plainby a/c G and W Motley sold to 234.2c. Most heavy cows sold from 225-238c, and medium cows from 195-225c.
No quality grain-fed trade were yarded with a few isolated sales to 298.2c. Trade weight feeders a/c G and W Motley sold to 266.2c while Santa cross steers a/c R and HM Ciesiolka sold to 271.2c. Vealer calves to slaughter sold from 190-230c depending on quality on offer. Lightweight store steers sold to 276.2c.
