Australian Dairy Plan seeks members for Joint Transition Team

Applications for membership of the Joint Transition Team (JTT) will be open for just a week.

The surprise move comes after an August 6 interview with the Stock & Land, in which ADP independent chair John Brumby was asked if he was seeking applicants for the roles.

"I think we've probably got enough," Mr Brumby had said.

"The ones that have come in have been very good quality and I'd like to resolve this ideally within the next week or so."

Industry structure and advocacy emerged as the number one priority during recent national consultation for the plan.

The JTT has been given a late October deadline to recommend transformational change options to reform industry structures.

Applicants interested in joining the six to eight person JTT will be asked to demonstrate experience in leadership, business, strategic transformation and the dairy supply chain.

Membership will reflect diversity in gender and experience.

The JTT will report to the Australian Dairy Plan Committee, comprising the chairs of the four partner organisations and Mr Brumby.

"The need for transformational change in dairy industry structure and advocacy was voiced as a priority issue at all recent consultation workshops for the Australian Dairy Plan across the country," Mr Brumby said.

"This dedicated taskforce will enable a rapid and comprehensive review of possible options for reform by an experienced and independent group, so that its recommendations can be considered prior to the publication of our final report later this year."

The deadline for applications is 5.00pm AEST on Friday August 23, 2019.
