CENTRAL Queensland cattle country owned by the Archer family for the past 164 years is on the market.
Covering 1501 hectares (3709 acres) in 21 freehold titles, Malchi and Robins at Gracemere will be auctioned by Elders in Rockhampton on October 2.
The Archer Brothers settled in the region in 1855 when Queensland was still part of the colony of NSW.
It wasn't until 1859 with the formation of the state of Queensland, that the Archer Brothers were able to freehold their aggregation.
The fifth generation of the Archer family will retain the historically listed property, Gracemere.
Located 6km from Gracemere and 5km from the CQLX livestock selling centre, the property is described as a good mix of country.
There are creek flats running to slightly undulating hills and rising to higher slopes with open forest country with ironbark and bloodwood.
The country carries a good body of soft, native grasses with areas of buffel spreading throughout.
Green panic is also found along the numerous water courses running through the property. There is also a mix of seca, verano and wynn cassia stylos.
Water is supplied from seven bores, five dams, and two branches of Malchi Creek, which runs the full length of the property. There is also a one megalitre from the Stanwell pipeline for stock and domestic use.
The property is fenced into six main paddocks with new boundary fencing. There is also an old set of cattle yards.
