Sullivan Livestock yarded 1762 cattle at their Gympie cattle sale on Monday where the market remained firm for all descriptions.
Cattle were drawn from Rosedale, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Booubyjan, Gayndah, Tansey, Kilkivan, Woolooga, Kenilworth, Maleny and all local areas.
Droughtmaster steers from Gladys Mengel, Goomong, sold for 304c/kg ($1325). Droughtmaster steers from B and D Phillips sold for 305c ($1410, $1464 and $1363). Charbray steers from the Burns family, Tiaro, sold for 295c ($1262).
Droughtmaster steers from D Thompson, Gundiah, sold for 292c ($1258). Heavy feeder steers generally sold from 280c to 300c. Weaner steers sold to a top of 275c with most lines selling from 235c to 260c.
Droughtmaster heifers from Selwyn Tombs, Gunalda, sold for 235c ($905). Charbray cross heifers from J and M Belling made 236c ($819). Most heavier heifers sold from 220c to 236c. Weaner heifers sold to a top of 238c with good conditioned vealer heifers selling from 180c to 218c. Plainer conditioned lesser lines sold from 100c to 165c.
Cows and calves were limited in supply and sold to a top of $1340 with others selling from $460 to $920.
