A "complete" heifer, with "strength" and good bone structure impressed international judge Dale Chupp, Inola, Oklahoma, United States, during the dairy junior show.
Yearling Holstein heifer Esjay Merlot Phemie was praised for its "style and balance".
"It has such dairy strength, and is a heifer that carries its feet and legs quite well," he said.
"It's the type of heifer I like."
Exhibitor Jess Seeliger, Esjay Holsteins, Flaxmans Valley, SA, said the heifer had shown early promise, and was long and tall for its age.
"We'll see what it's like next year when it comes back in-milk," she said.

Reserve champion went to Billaview Burdette Jazmine, a yearling heifer exhibited by Courtney Afford, Woods Point, SA.
"It's a heifer with overall style, balance and dairy strength," Mr Chupp said.
Honourable mention went to yearling Finesse Lady Martha, shown by Casey Treloar, Victor Harbor, SA, which had won the Ayrshire juvenile champion in the judging the day before.
The junior show also included two school's specific classes, which had 26 entries between them from eight schools.
Mr Chupp said he was impressed with the quality of the heifers that had been presented before him.
"These were my kind of heifers," he said.
Mr Chupp said there were very few events of this nature in the US, where schools, breeders and different breed types could all compete against each other in a youth show.
Winner of the Jeff Kernich Memorial Trophy for best presented school went to Karoonda Area School, SA.
