ALMOST 100 people gathered in Tamworth on Tuesday for the three-day Women in Dairy conference.
The event has a range of speakers, covering topics from animal welfare and biosecurity to drought support and mental health.
Tamworth, NSW, dairy farmer Kate Forbes said the conference was in its third year and the crowd was its biggest yet, people travelling from as far as Western Australia and Queensland.
"The dairy industry is quite a niche, small market overall, and that's why it's all the more important that we have events like this to get together and support each other," Ms Forbes said.
"We did wonder whether the drought would affect numbers.
"But with the numbers that we've got here, it just goes to show that during a tough time it's so important to have events like this.
"People will continue to support them, because we need to support each other in the tough times."
