Historical Australian Defence aircraft went under the online hammer from Avalon Victoria earlier this month, attracting enthusiasts from across the world.
Conducted by auction house Pickles, on behalf of Australian Frontline Machinery, the event was Australia's largest ever ex-military aviation auction.
Australian Frontline Machinery general manager Colin Werner said the catalogue included 18 Pilatus PC-9/A Aircraft, 4 Schleicher ASK 21 Mi Gliders, a Black Hawk Fuselage and thousands of spare parts and equipment.
"We made available an unmissable opportunity to own rare ex-military aircraft and spare parts, our bidders clearly understood the value of owning such sort-after aircraft not just for their historical value," he said.
Mr Werner said as only only 265 Pilatus PC-9/A Aircraft had been built worldwide, the 2019 retired aircraft were the bidding highlight of the auction.
Pickles manager Richard White said along with strong national interest, military enthusiasts from across the world flocked to bid through the companies online system.
"In this climate, having the auction entirely online meant that the auction could proceed and investors locally and globally were able to secure these historic aircraft'' he said.
Australian Frontline Machinery are planning to hold another event in February 2021.
