Specialist infant animal nutrition product business MaxCare remains firmly focussed on looking at ways to improve the wellbeing of Australian calves as well as the mental wellbeing of our farming community through its continuing video series 'Growing Stronger Every Day'.

Jennie is a Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) coordinator based in the dairy heartland region of Bega in south-east New South Wales. She has worked as a RAMHP coordinator for the last 10 years. The RAMHP program helps educate and connect individuals, communities and workplaces with appropriate services and programs in relation to mental health and wellbeing.

Jennie said times have been tough in the farming industry and people deal with stress in different ways.

"It's important to reach out to someone you think may be struggling and open up the lines of communication," she said.

Jennie is passionate about helping rural communities stay mentally healthy and raising awareness about how to find help when they need it.

"There are a number of online resources available including a new initiative called 'You Got This Mate'. This is a dedicated website for rural men which provides tips and information to help men reach their best possible mental health."

MaxCare business manager, Tom Newton said Australian farmers continue to face challenging conditions.

"As an industry and community we need to rally together to support our farmers and help build stronger rural communities," Tom said.

"MaxCare is there every step of the way, we're here to support our customers through the good times and more importantly in the challenging times," he said.

"We're aware of the challenges and unpredictability of life on the land.

Mental illness in the bush can be hard to detect, tough exteriors built by the harsh landscape we owe our livelihoods to, and the signature attitude of 'she'll be right' can sometimes get us into to strife.

"With this video series we want to help remove the stigma around mental health and help our farmers address the challenges."
