Dairy farmers will notice the outstanding performance of Australian-bred sires in the August release of Australian Breeding Values (ABV), according to Genetics Australia chief executive officer Anthony Shelly.
"We are really pleased with the way Australian-bred young sires - and emerging proven sires - are complementing our strong daughter proven sires," he said.
"This gives us a complete offering that is hard to match."
Mr Shelly said proven favorites Maebull and Giles continued to lead the Holstein contingent.
Maebull now has more than 550 milking daughters and still maintains a 300+ balanced profit index (BPI) ranking - offering breed-leading mastitis resistance and cell count, superior daughter fertility and positive semen conception rate.
The 2020 addition, Giles, continues to perform strongly with a BPI of 332, additional daughters and reliability - with the same breed-leading gestation length and calving ease.
This JoSuper son is known to sire averaged-statured daughters that display excellent width and strength.
Mr Shelly said he was the ideal bull for farmers who experienced success with the highly regarded sire called Christmas.
He said Pilbara had emerged as the leading senior genomic sire.
This Perseus son now has a BPI of 394, and super ratings for protein and protein percentage.
Pilbara has a A22 calving ease and outstanding ratings for mastitis resistance, daughter fertility and mammary system.
Tirano and Sondalo are Jeronimo full brothers from a VG88 Main Event daughter.
Both ranked in the elite end of the BPI list and offer excellent production ratings, strong fertility and short gestation length.
Both of these bulls transmit excellent udders and Tirano has the added bonus of being polled.
Lastin is a Fedora son and one of two young Australian sires with a BPI of more than 400. Positive deviations, shorter gestation and excellent survival are features of this profitable sire.
He is joined in the 400+ club by Karat, the leading Australian-bred young sire in the August ABV release.
At 414 BPI and with balanced production, outstanding fertility and survival - along with an exceptional rating of 110 for mammary system - Karat will be one of the most popular sires available this spring.
His A22 brother, Kardew, has similar ratings for survival and mammary system - with the bonus of higher yields of fat and protein.
"The depth of our Holstein offering is as strong as ever," Mr Shelly said.
"Keep an eye out for our new catalogue that should be hitting farms this week."
