A diminished class of Ayrshire dairy cattle, with floods on the Mid North Coast knocking out some of the competition did not diminish the style on show at Sydney Royal this week with the four year old cow Spring Blossom Jumper Daisy sashed senior champion by judge Robert Dolman, Codrington on the Richmond River.

Managed by a consortium of dairy families from Euberta, NSW, co-owner Ken Robinson said Spring Blossom's overall dairy style, clean lines and well proportioned structure appealed and reflected characteristics of her mother Kendi Spring Blossom, the winner of Dairy Week in 2017.
In the end, the ribbon went to Werombi Vale Bethany Pruesand, eight months, exhibited by Brett and Melinda Hayter, Euberta via Wagga Wagga.
In reserve was Parkville Reagan Katie, 14 months, exhibited by Colin Fahey, also of Euberta.
Judge Mr Dolman said the Werombi Vale heifer, by US bred Ayrshire Palmyra Tri-Star Burdette from Hillcrest Dreamer Pruesand, had unusual attributes for such a young animal.
"It's not often you see young calves getting up in this sort of competition but I admire her style, balance and rump," he said.
Of the reserve winner, by US bred Palmyra Berkely Reagan Mr Dolman said it was her length, stretch and depth that appealed.
