Training for this year's show season is well underway for Forbes High School's show team in central western NSW with students working closely with six dairy heifers.
Show team coordinator Rachel Eagles said the six dairy heifers are from the Eagles Partnership in Gooloogong, NSW, and the students will be entering them in the dairy heifer section of the Forbes Show.
The team are working with a Holstein heifer named Marion, owned by S and R Eagles, and two Jersey heifers named Pinky Pie and Apple Jack, owned by Bethany Eagles.
The other three dairy heifers the team are working with are Ayrshire's named Gifi and Ada, owned by the Eagles Partnership, and Ivy Blossom, owned by Lilly Eagles.
The dairy heifers have been broken in by the cattle team and the students have been training them to walk on a lead as well as washing, drying and feeding them.
